.What is HOSTING?How much time do you have? Hosting is one of those core Internet concepts that starts out simple and gets insanely confusing as you delve into it. Every website is 'hosted' somewhere. In other words, the 'hosting' entity runs a machine that not only stores a given website but - most critically - makes it possible for other machines around the Internet to find that website on their machine. Many Internet Service Providers offer physical space on their machines for their customers to create and manage their own website. The Provider (known as an ISP) runs the software that enables those websites to be found by those looking for them around the world. If you have a powerful enough machine and the right software, you can host your own website - and the websites of your family and friends, for that matter. Userland's Frontier enables you to just that. Indeed, you can host your Radio weblog on your own machine as well. While these concepts may seem intimidating (host my own website? You've got to be kidding ...), many of us envision a day not too many years away when most of us will indeed host our own sites - or, rather, our personal computers will do that with a surprising minimum of fuss required on our part. .can I move it to another supplier to host it if I wish? You may move your website to another web hosting service at any time. Once your website design has been completed, we send you a copy of the website on cd. This copy of your website is for your retention. |
.What is Domain Name?In general, a domain is an area of control or a sphere of knowledge. 1) In computing and telecommunication in general, a domain is a sphere of knowledge identified by a name. Typically, the knowledge is a collection of facts about some program entities or a number of network points or addresses. 2) On the Internet, a domain consists of a set of network addresses. This domain is organized in levels. The top level identifies geographic or purpose commonality (for example, the nation that the domain covers or a category such as "commercial"). The second level identifies a unique place within the top level domain and is, in fact, equivalent to a unique address on the Internet (an IP address). Lower levels of domain may also be used. Strictly speaking, in the Internet's Domain Name System (DNS), a domain is a name with which name server records are associated that describe subdomains or host. For example, "ibevision.com" could be a domain with records for "www.ibevision.com" and "www1.ibevision.com," and so forth. 3) In Windows NT and Windows 2000, a domain is a set of network resources (applications, printers, and so forth) for a group of users. The user need only to log in to the domain to gain access to the resources, which may be located on a number of different servers in the network. .Do you guarantee that my site will always be available? No web hosting service can guarantees 100% uptime. However we can say that our servers have had 100% up time for many years. Should our servers have any problems we do have the necessary backups in place to deal with this issue very speedily.
